Landslide susceptibility mapping in Longmen Shan Mountainous, East Himalaya with weight of evidence method

 Landslide susceptibility mapping is a vital tool for disaster management and planning development activities in mountainous terrains environments. In this study, the Weight of Evidence (WOE) method was applied to find out the probability of occurrence of landslides with unique combinations of evidential themes and to produce a landslide susceptibility map of part of Longmen Shan Mountainous, East Himalaya, within a Geographic Information System environment. The evidential themes such as slope, slope aspect, land cover, relief, distance to river and distance to fault are taken into consideration in the study. The model has been further validated through AUC curve analysis, showing an accuracy of 81.2%.
